Life Drawing: Week 4

This was the final week of life drawing. Both pieces were drawn with charcoal, we had a bit omre time with the first and it's about half the size of the second which is why it's a bit more developed.

Life Drawing: Week 3

This was charcoal and charcoal on a2

For a bit of variety I tried out just pencil. I had missed the fine lines, although I'm more of a fan of the charcoal. It's a hb and 2b pencil.

Life Drawing: Week 2

This took up most of the A1 sheet. It was initially drawn with pencil and then shaded with willow charcoal. I tried to shade it by putting down the charcoal and then smudging with my finger, but I wasn't happy with the result.

This one was initially sketched out with compressed charcoal, and was quite a bit smaller (A2 size or so). I shaded it with a combination of willow charcoal and an eraser which gave nice dark soft lines and the compressed charcoal for definition.

Life Drawing: Week 1

I had my first life drawing class this evening. We did several exercises, one of which was a half hour or so on a piece that resulted in this . I'll mark it as a base to hopefully improve from. It's a black conte pastel on paper
